Makeup | Clear brow gels - splash or save?
Happy Sunday!
Someone please tell me we're not actually nearly in to May? I swear it was Christmas like yesterday....
Anywho.... I'm gonna be talking about clear brow gels today, my favourite kind of brow gels! And straight off the bat, I'm gonna be telling you to splash, not save! Read on to see why....
Anastasia Clear Brow Gel Vs. Maybelline Brow Drama Transparent Sculpting Brow Mascara
Right, lets start with Maybelline's offering. As you can see from the last two pictures, the wands for each of the brow gels are completely different in shape. The Maybelline one has a "balled" end which is what I use majority of the time for applying the product. OR WHAT LITTLE PRODUCT IS ON THE WAND SHOULD I SAY! It's absolutely useless I tell ya! From the last picture, you can see that all the product just surrounds itself around the centre of the wand and your brows never even touch that part! This product is an absolute fail; it doesn't hold my brows in to place because my brows never even see any of the product, and even when it does (when I force the brush on to my brows so that I can feel some of the product on there), my brows still droop after applying it. The wand isn't as thick with bristles as the Anastasia one and I think that's where the problmem lies. Really not impressed with this; thank god it was only £4.99 and in a 3 For 2.
Now for Anastasia Beverly Hills. My absolute holy grail brow gel. The formula sits well on the wand so that it actually clings on to my brow hairs without having to force the brush on to the brows. It sets my brows in to place and literally does not move ALL DAY. There's no crispy/hard feeling either; it's really comfortable on the brows all day and you can barely feel it on them. Also, I think there's ingredients in there to promote brow growth because I have definitely seen my brows become a bit more thicker and I've seen faster growth for the brow hairs that I pluck under my brows. It is £16, which I think is actually reasonable, considering this is only my second tube in roughly 1 and a half years (I'm probably due another one now).
Do any of you out there actually like the Maybelline brow gel? I really can't see myself liking it ever! Just nowhere near as good at the Anastasia one. Oh well, at least it's tried and tested and now I know to just splash the cash for better quality!
Let me know if there are some drugstore brow gels that I should try. My sister keeps mentioning the L'Oreal Brow Artist brow gel, so may check that out soon.
See you tomorrow on my YouTube channel for another and final #Sisterseries video!
Ciao x
